My All Time Favorite Dallas Cowboys Players
The Dallas Cowboys also known as “America’s Team” are one of the greatest teams in the history of the NFL. They have been Super Bowl Champions five times and have several Hall of Fame players as a result.
The Dallas Cowboys are not only the one of to the top teams in the NFL, but also the league’s most valuable franchise. Why is that? For most of the Cowboys storied history, they’ve been one of the most successful teams in all of football. Combine that with the Cowboys penchant to having many of the greatest players in football history and renowned superstar players, it makes sense to why so many people will call themselves Cowboys fans. Many of the Cowboys players on this list are some of the greatest players to ever play the game.
From 1966-1985, 20 consecutive seasons, the Cowboys possessed a winning record at the end of the season. This is a NFL record and the gold standard of success. Throughout the franchise’s existence, the team has had a fair share of Hall of Fame players. Roger Staubach, “Bullet” Bob Hayes, Randy White, Tony Dorsett are some of the first Cowboys players to be inducted to the Football Hall of Fame. The team’s run of success in the early ’90s saw them win three Super Bowls in four years. Some of the best players in team history were on those teams. Hall of Famers Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, MIchael Irvin and Deion Sanders rounded out an NFL powerhouse.

NICKNAME
- In the initial months following the its formation, the Dallas team was known as the “Steers.” After a few weeks, however, the name was changed to “Rangers.” At the same time, a baseball team operated in Dallas under that name, but was scheduled to fold before the 1960 football season. However, when the baseball team decided to play one more season, Clint Murchison Jr. and Bedford Wynne, owners of the new NFL team, selected the name of Cowboys to avoid confusion.

from their first season of 1960.
the Cowboy-49er NFC Championship game played on the January 17, 1993. That would be my pick for best Cowboy game of the 1990’s.
The Dallas Cowboys have a history as rich as any in the NFL. From beginning to end, names like Bob Hayes, Randy White, Tony Dorsett, Herschel Walker, Troy Aikman, and Emmitt Smith. Ed Jones and Thomas Henderson.
